The population of Malasiqui grew from 50,730 in 1960 to 130,275 in 2015, an increase of 79,545 people. The latest census figures in 2015 denote a positive growth rate of 1.01%, or an increase of 6,709 people, from the previous population of 123,566 in 2010.
The municipal population is unevenly distributed to seventy three (73) barangays, classified either as urban or rural. The urban barangays are: 1) Poblacion with the highest population of 8,027; 2) Tambac with 3,243; 3) Cabatling has 2,715; 4) Taloy with 2,424; 5) Gomez with 1,191; 6) Talospatang with 3,259. It has total population of 20,859 based on the 2010 census. There are 67 rural barangays in the Municipality of Malsiqui of which barangay Don Pedro ranked as number 1 highest number of population with 3,077; followed by Nalsian Norte of 3,046; Warey has 2,883 and Cawayan Bogtong with 2,911 populations. It is noticed that the rural mentioned barangays are bordering the Poblacion. On the contrary, the least populated are Nansangaan with 632; Pamaranum with 695; Bawer has 725; Pacuan with 743 and Viado with 761. Based on the 2010 census of (PSA), the Municipality of Malasiqui has a total rural population of 109,416.
The Municipality of Malasiqui has a total population as of 2010 based on NSO Census; it reveals that ages 10-14 for both sexes of 42,280. There are 21,926 male and 20,354 are female. Ages 15-19 with a total of 13,436 both sexes where male outnumbered female with a population of 6,969 and female with 6,467. The least number of population age group belongs to the old which is 80 years and over with 1,226 as of the latest census. By gender population, the males predominate with 62,375 against the females with 60,445 or 1:1.02 ratio of male against female.
The table below show that there are a total of 2,406 who enters Post Secondary Education of which 4,277, about92.31 percent or 3,948 graduated, and there are 7.69 percent are under graduate or 329. It has also recorded 7,861 college undergraduate; 9,644 academic degree holder and 190 post baccalaureate graduates as of Censal Year 2010. A total of 3,261 for both sexes who belong to the pre-schoolers, a total of 36, 467 who are in the elementary level while in the secondary there are about 45, 092 household population five (5) years old and over.
